III. General
Scope of personal data processing
We treat all personal data confidentially. As a rule, we process our users’ personal data only to provide personalised access to our online services or to ensure the best possible general online access to our content and consulting services, as well as to operate a functional website for users.
We generally process our users’ personal data only with their consent. An exception applies where obtaining prior consent is not possible for practical reasons and/or the processing of the data is permitted by law. In particular, personal data is processed only insofar as and to the extent that it is strictly necessary for technical reasons and/or to fulfil our legal and/or contractual obligations and/or for overriding legitimate interests.
Legal basis for processing personal data
We process your personal data in a transparent and proper manner in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable law. Where we obtain the data subject’s consent for processing personal data, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Where the processing of personal data is necessary to perform a contract to which the data subject is a party, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. This also applies to processing necessary to take steps prior to entering into a contract.
Where processing of personal data is necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which our company is subject, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Where processing of personal data is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(d) GDPR.
Where processing is necessary for the purposes of our company’s or a third party’s legitimate interests, and the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not override those interests, the legal basis for processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
You have the right to access and rectify your personal data. If you have consented to the processing of your personal data, you may withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent and there is no other legal basis for processing, you have the right to have your personal data erased or to restrict the processing of your data. In such cases, please email info@prinz-management-consulting.de
If you have any questions about the storage of your personal data, please email us at the address above.
Data erasure and storage period
Below, we state how long we store data for each processing activity and when it is erased or blocked. Unless an explicit storage period is specified below, your personal data will be erased or blocked as soon as the purpose for which it was stored no longer applies. Data may nevertheless be stored for longer if this is required by the EU or national legislator in regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject. Once the statutory retention period expires, personal data will be blocked or erased unless we need to continue storing it and have a legal basis for doing so.
IV. Description of website data processing and legal basis for storage
Collection and processing of website visitors’ data
You can generally use our website for information purposes without disclosing your identity. When you visit our website, only access data that is technically necessary to display the website is transmitted to our provider. The necessary data that may be collected includes the following aggregated usage and technical data transmitted by your device, including certain information about software and hardware:
- Referrer URL (previously visited website),
- Requested website or file,
- Browser type and version,
- Operating system used,
- Device type used,
- Date and time of access,
- IP address,
- Language and version of the browser software.
Access data is not used to identify individual users and is not combined with data from other sources. Data is also stored in log files to ensure the website functions properly and to safeguard information technology systems.
Data transmissions and the entire website are SSL-encrypted.
The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests lie in ensuring the website’s functionality, integrity and security. Storing access data, particularly IP addresses, in log files for a longer period enables us to detect and prevent misuse.
The data is erased as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Where data is collected to provide the website, this is when the relevant session ends. Where data is stored in log files, users’ IP addresses are erased or anonymised so that the client making the request can no longer be identified.
Contact form and email contact
Our website includes a contact form that you can use to get in touch electronically. You can also contact us by email. When you contact us using the form or by email, we store the information you provide (in particular, title, email address, first and last name, address, company and the text of your enquiry, as well as any other details you provide in the form or email) so that we can handle your enquiry and answer your questions. If you do not provide this information, we cannot enter into or perform a contract by contacting you or processing your enquiry.
Where the user has given consent, the legal basis for processing is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. The legal basis for processing data sent by email is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If the email contact is intended to conclude a contract, the additional legal basis for processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Personal data is processed solely to handle your enquiry, which is also our legitimate interest.
The data is erased as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Personal data entered in the contact form or sent by email is erased once the conversation with the user has ended. The conversation is considered ended when the circumstances indicate that the matter in question has been conclusively resolved. Where statutory retention obligations apply, the data is stored for the period required by law.
Advertising / marketing purposes
We also use your personal data (in particular, your name and email address) to send you information about our services and events.
This processing is based on a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate business interest in informing our customers about our other services and events in order to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Every marketing email we send gives you the option to unsubscribe from further communications using the relevant email address.
V. Use of cookies
We and the partners named in this policy use cookies to provide relevant services. This also applies when you visit our website or access our services. Cookies are text files stored in the user’s computer system by the internet browser or via the internet browser. When a user visits a website, a cookie may be stored on the user’s operating system. This cookie contains a distinctive string of characters that enables the browser to be uniquely identified when the website is visited again. However, this does not mean that we can directly identify you.
Cookies are used, on the one hand, to make our website more user-friendly and improve the quality of our services. For example, we use session cookies that store a session ID, allowing different requests from your browser to be assigned to the same session.
Session cookies are necessary for using the website. In particular, they enable us to recognise your device when you return to the website. They are automatically deleted when you leave our site.
We also use temporary cookies to improve user-friendliness. These are stored on your device for a specified period. When you return to our site to use our services, we automatically recognise that you have visited us before and remember the details and settings you entered, so you do not have to enter them again.
We also use cookies to compile statistics on website use and evaluate them to optimise our services for you (see tracking and analytics tools). These cookies enable us to automatically recognise you when you revisit our site. They are automatically deleted after a set period.
The data collected in this way is pseudonymised using technical measures, so it can no longer be attributed to the user visiting the site. The data is not stored together with other personal data about users.
The data processed through cookies is necessary for the purposes described above in order to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties under Art. 6(1), first sentence, point (f) GDPR.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser not to store cookies on your computer or to always display a prompt before a new cookie is created. Please note, however, that some cookies are essential for our website to function; otherwise, the site cannot be accessed or displayed. If you disable all cookies, you may not be able to use some parts of the website without restriction.
When you visit our website, an information banner tells you about our use of cookies and refers you to this Privacy Policy. As a rule, we only use cookies that are not essential to the functioning of our website with your prior express consent. You can change your settings later using the cookie button displayed on the site. Please note, however, that without your consent you may not be able to use all the features of this website in full.
Tracking and analytics tools
We use third-party tracking and analytics tools on our website. These use performance cookies, which you can manage using the settings options provided by the relevant third parties or in the cookie settings. You can adjust the settings for the domain on any page. We use the following tracking and analytics tools on this website:
Google Analytics
This website uses features of the Google Analytics web analytics service. Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help analyse how our website is used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA. However, because IP anonymisation is enabled on our website, Google shortens your IP address within the Member States of the European Union or other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmitting it. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to and shortened on a Google server in the USA. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data.
Data processing, in particular the use of cookies, is based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.
You can also prevent Google from collecting data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address), and from processing this data, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Alternatively, you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by withholding consent in the cookie settings or disabling consent you have already given. Click the cookie button to open the cookie settings.
For more information about the terms of use and privacy, see http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.
1&1 WebAnalytics
This website also uses the analytics service 1&1 WebAnalytics. 1&1 WebAnalytics uses cookies to analyse website usage. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on a 1&1 server. 1&1 Internet AG uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity for the relevant website operator and provide other services related to website and internet use.
Data is stored and analysed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of 1&1 WebAnalytics is not combined with other data held by Adobe. You can prevent cookies from being stored by changing your browser settings. Please note, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all the features of this website in full.
Alternatively, you can prevent 1&1 WebAnalytics from collecting your data by withholding consent in the cookie settings or disabling consent you have already given. Click the cookie button to open the cookie settings.
For more information about data collection and processing by 1&1 WebAnalytics, see: https://www.ionos.de/terms-gtc/terms-privacy/
Google Web Fonts
This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google to display fonts consistently. When you visit a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its cache to display text and fonts correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. This informs Google that our website was accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used in the interests of presenting our online services consistently and attractively. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If your browser does not support web fonts, the content will be displayed in a standard font.
You can prevent Google Web Fonts from collecting your data by withholding consent in the cookie settings or disabling consent you have already given. Click the cookie button to open the cookie settings.
For more information about Google Web Fonts, see https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and Google’s Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
VI. Social media pages
We do not use social media plugins. However, our website provides links to our pages on the social networks LinkedIn and Xing. Clicking the logo or name of a social network takes you to our page on that network.
No personal data is transmitted to social networks before you click a logo or link that takes you to the relevant social network’s website. Personal data may be transmitted to and processed by the relevant social network only after you click the logo on our website and are redirected to its website. Personal data is processed in particular if you are logged in to your social media account and post content to the social network using that account. However, data such as your IP address may also be processed if you do not have a social media account.
We have no control over the data collected or the processing activities, nor do we know the full extent of the data collection, the purposes of processing or the retention periods. We also have no information about the deletion of data collected by the relevant social network.
For more information about data processing, your related rights and privacy settings, please see the privacy notices on the social media providers’ websites:

VII. Google Maps
We use the Google Maps mapping service on this website. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This allows us to display interactive maps directly on the website and makes the map features easy to use.
To use Google Maps features, your IP address must be stored. This applies whether or not Google provides a user account that you are logged into. If you are logged in to Google, your data is directly associated with your account. If you do not want your data associated with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data as usage profiles and uses it for advertising, market research and/or to tailor its website to users’ needs. This analysis is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide targeted advertising and to inform other social network users about your activity on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, but you must contact Google to exercise that right.
Google Maps is used in the interests of presenting our online services attractively and making the locations listed on our website easy to find. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If you do not agree to this processing, you can prevent cookies from being installed by changing the relevant settings in your internet browser. For details, see the section “Use of cookies” above. Please note, however, that in this case you may not be able to use Google Maps or may only be able to use it with limitations.
For more information about how Google handles user data, see Google’s Privacy Policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
VIII. Your rights
You can exercise your rights as a data subject in relation to your personal data processed by us at any time using the contact details provided in section II above. As a data subject, you have the right to:
- under Art. 15 GDPR, request access to the data we process about you. In particular, you may request information about the purposes of processing, the categories of data, the recipients and categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned retention period, your right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or objection, your right to lodge a complaint, the source of your data if it was not collected from you, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling, as well as meaningful information about its details;
- under Art. 16 GDPR, request without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate data or completion of your data stored by us;
- under Art. 17 GDPR, request the erasure of your data stored by us, unless processing is necessary to exercise the right to freedom of expression and information, comply with a legal obligation, serve the public interest, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
- under Art. 18 GDPR, request the restriction of processing of your data if you contest its accuracy or the processing is unlawful;
- under Art. 20 GDPR, receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, or request that it be transferred to another controller (“data portability”);
- under Art. 21 GDPR, object to processing where it is based on Art. 6(1), first sentence, point (e) or (f) GDPR. We will then stop processing your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. You may object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time without giving reasons. If you object to processing for direct marketing purposes, your personal data will no longer be processed for those purposes;
- under Art. 7(3) GDPR, withdraw at any time any consent you have given us (including before the GDPR came into force, i.e. before 25 May 2018)—that is, your freely given, informed and unambiguous indication, by a statement or other clear affirmative action, that you agree to the processing of your personal data for one or more specific purposes. If you withdraw your consent, we may no longer continue processing data based on that consent; and
- under Art. 77 GDPR, lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by our company if you believe that the processing violates data protection law. The competent supervisory authority for data protection matters is the data protection commissioner of the federal state in which our company is based.
IX. Changes to our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to ensure that it complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services, for example when introducing new services. The version of the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of your visit to our website will apply.
As of: January 2021
